I was wandering around Shinjuku looking for a place to eat lunch and trying to find a new restaurant. I thought I'd take a walk down a back street and found Itamae Bar LIVE FISH MARKET Shinjuku Branch (Live Fish Market). I had lunch here. There are approximately 51 seats in the spacious restaurant. I was alone, but it was empty so I was shown to a table. ◆ Hand-kneaded chicken meatballs gozen ¥1000 There were 12 types of lunch menus in total. There are both meat and fish menus, but it will be a basic Japanese-style meal menu. I couldn't decide which one to go with, so I chose the hand-kneaded chicken meatballs gozen. This selection is the result of an impactful name and the efforts of Tsukune lovers. In addition to the main dish, the gozen comes with rice, miso soup, salad, pickles, and Side Dishes. Is the price reasonable given the volume? The meatballs were also big which was a big plus. However, since there was cabbage in the pot and the meatballs were soaked in the soup, the texture and taste were different from Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) I usually eat. If possible, it would have been great if it was a set meal that resembled Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).
