A gourmet introduced us to Sakurada, a soft-shelled turtle specialty restaurant that has been in Azabu-Juban for over 50 years and only accepts two customers per day. We arrived early, but the proprietress was waiting for us in front of the restaurant. The turtles were raised for four years, feeding only antibiotic-free white fish. The soft-shelled turtle made only from the turtle, without any soft-shelled turtle such as kelp, is rich in flavor and warms the body. We also drank the fresh blood, which had no odor and tasted like juice. We started with delicacies such as liver, pancreas, spleen, and heart, and it went well with sake. The hot pot was mild but had a strong flavor, so we could eat as much as we wanted. We also added soft-shelled turtle collagen, which they have been adding since the restaurant opened. It makes you look forward to your skin the next day! We had a great time chatting with the proprietress, and in no time we finished the soft-shelled turtle filled course, including the cherry blossom ice cream dessert named after the restaurant. It was my first time to eat such delicious soft-soft-shelled turtle. And it wasn't a placebo, it really relieved my fatigue and made me feel energized.
