On a Thursday in March, at 12:00 a.m., a little after noon, I decided to visit a restaurant that is popular among locals. At first glance, this restaurant looks like it could be found anywhere, but when we arrived, it was already full, but luckily there was no one waiting to get in, so we were seated right away. When I stepped into the store, I was greeted by a calm space filled with Japanese taste. There were tatami rooms, table seats, and counter seats, all of which were filled with customers enjoying that day's meal. Soy sauce is simply placed on the table, and the only drinks served are hot tea. This simplicity heightened my anticipation for the meal that was about to begin. Please note that there are no restrooms inside the store, and customers must use the shared restrooms in the same building. However, this minor inconvenience did not seem to be a big problem for the people who came to enjoy the restaurant's food. After looking at the menu, I chose the fried toriyama set meal. Being conscious of my health, I changed to brown rice instead of white rice and ordered a smaller portion. In addition, we have added a salad that allows you to enjoy 10 types of vegetables to balance your meal. The waiting time for food to be served is approximately 15 minutes. Even during this short time, I was excited by the peaceful atmosphere inside the restaurant and the aroma of the food being enjoyed by other customers. The first thing I saw was a ten-kind salad with mizuna as the main dish topped with jaco. This salad was made with lots of colorful vegetables, and the green perilla dressing added an exquisite flavor. Jaco's accent was effective, and the volume of the salad was satisfying. It was a perfect dish to take a break from eating, and at the same time it was a delicious appetizer to start the meal. Next was the miso soup, which was a white miso base with plenty of green onions and fried tofu, and I was honestly surprised by the amount. However, its deep flavor and comfort that warmed my body made this meal even more satisfying. The main dish, the Chicken Sanzoku Fried Set Meal, consists of 8 beautifully fried chicken thighs placed on top of a pile of cabbage. This thick and juicy Sanzoku-age had a perfect combination of crispy texture and soy sauce-based seasoning, giving me a sense of happiness with every bite. Additionally, the pickled daikon radish that came with it had a fresh, crunchy texture that served to tighten up the overall flavor of the dish. I was told that this restaurant sells fish dishes, but I was surprised by the high quality of the chicken dishes they served. One of the reasons why this restaurant is so loved is that while it values traditional Japanese flavors, it also caters to modern health-conscious people. On this visit, I was truly satisfied with the warm atmosphere inside the restaurant and the many carefully selected dishes. Since I was so satisfied with the chicken dish, I would definitely like to try this restaurant's specialty fish dish next time. It was such a wonderful dining experience that not only made me excited to eat it, but also to visit again.
