以前は、虎ノ門駅近くの地下にあった
老舗洋食店ケルンさん。
130席を擁する広々としたビヤホール的な
店内は、虎ノ門界隈で働く会社員や
省庁で働く役所勤めの人たちで
常に賑わっていました。
半世紀以上の営業を経て、西新橋
HIBIYA FORT TOWERの2階に移転。
昔の昭和レトロな雰囲気から、
バーカウンターのあるスタイリッシュな
雰囲気へと様変わり。
店名の前に「ビア&ワイン」と付いているのは、
そういうことか〜と一人納得。
洋食メニューは全て好物。
フードジャーナリストの岸朝子さんが愛した
カニクリームコロッケにするか、
定番の目玉焼き付きのハンバーグにするか
悩んだ末に、ナポリタンをオーダー。

料理を待つ間に供される、一口サイズの
カップに入ったコーンスープ。
コクがあって、やはり美味しい。
料理が出てくるまでの期待感を高めてくれます。
そして、ザワークラウトと粉チーズを
従え、ナポリタンがお目見え。
具材は、玉ねぎ、ピーマン、スライスした
ソーセージ、マッシュルーム、ここまでは、
定番具材ですが、鶏肉が入っているのが、
ケルン流。
フォークですくってひと口食べると、
ただのケチャップ味とは一味違う、デミグラ
ソース、バターの風味が加わったコクのある
味わい。岸朝子さん風に表現すると
「大変美味しゅうございます。」
喫茶店のナポリタンとは一線を画す、
老舗洋食店ならではの矜持を感じました。
個人的には昔のレトロな雰囲気の方が
落ち着いて好きだったけど、今度は
酒ありで夜利用してみるのもいいかも。
