いわゆる「居酒屋」にはずいぶん長いこと行っていない・・・というより、公私共に行く機会にまったく恵まれない。
結局のところ、フランス料理かイタリア料理。日本料理のジャンルなら、懐石・うなぎ・天麩羅・鮨・麺類・・・このあたりに落ち着くことが多い。
若い頃に “大勢の仲間とワイワイ” やっていたような、あんな感じの食事を、そんな感じの雰囲気で、何も考えずに楽しめる機会は今やなかなか手に入らない。
そのせいというわけではないのだろうがストレスがたまると、こっそり夜中に車で抜け出して牛丼チェーンやコンビニエンス・ストアに駆け込んでいた時期があった。
旨い・不味いでもなく、時間からしても体に悪いのは百も承知だったが止められずにいた。
最近はそんなこともしなくなったのだが、あれはあれで気が楽になれる瞬間だったように思う。
この「お好み焼き屋さん」に来るようになったのは、そんな「ストレス解消」的なことをしなくなったから、その代わりに・・・というわけではないのだが、今でも時々無性に食べたくなることがある。年に１、２回位しか食べてはいないが、時々妙に思い出して頭から離れない。
店の雰囲気は、僕の中では「昔の居酒屋ってこんなじゃなかったっけ」ということになっている。
その昔、それこそ学生の頃に行ったことのある居酒屋と大きく違うところは - 料理もそのうちに入るのだろうが - なんと言っても「鉄板がある」ということだろう。視覚的にも、これ一つで違って見えるのかな・・・
みんなそこそこ若めの客層。ラフな格好をしているか、ネクタイなんか緩めて、大きなビール・ジョッキ片手にワイワイ楽しそうにやってる。
そんな中にいれば、やっぱり自分が浮いているような気もしないでもないが・・・お好み焼きを食べたいという欲望は抑えられないのだから仕方がない。
食事の値段が高いか安いかはよく解らないけれど、こんなもんなんじゃないかな。
店名に「広島風」となっているが、実は何をもって広島風と言うのか理解していない。
学生の頃、一時大阪に住んでいたことがあって大阪のお好み焼きも食べてはいる。しかし、何が違うのか覚えてもいないし、あえて聞いたこともない。
味は・・・基本的にソースやマヨネーズということになる。と言っても、手作りのものではない・・・と思う。生地もそんなにフワッとしてはいない。それでも、あっという間に平らげるところからして、結構好きなんだと思う。
なんなんだろうね、この・・・無性に食べたくなる衝動ってヤツは・・・
