毎年の恒例の冬の鮟鱇鍋。荒木町の渋いお店にこれまた渋い老夫婦が営まれている。とてもアットホームな雰囲気で美味しい食事ができる『たまる』さんが大好きである。鮟鱇鍋だけではなくお料理も美味しい。こちらでいただく新たけのこ煮、アイナメの煮凝り、ヒラメの昆布締め、分葱のぬた和え（今回は出なかったが）などは一級の美味しさである。そして、それらとビールや日本酒で舌を湿らせてからの鮟鱇鍋。こちらの醬油仕立ての鮟鱇鍋はとても上品で、あん肝や鮟鱇の身が各種野菜と絶妙なコントラストとなり、少しの辛みも相混じり鍋はどんどんなくなっていく。そして少しのスープだけになったときに白ご飯が供される。こちらの〆は雑炊ではなく、白ご飯にこのスープをかけていただく。これがめっぽう旨い！スープに溶け込んだ素材の旨みが白メシに染み渡りサラサラと流し込んでしまう。至高の時間である。
しかしながらこちらのお店、とても敷居が高い。基本、一見さんお断りであるが、店主の好々爺に気に入られないととても居心地の悪い思いをすることも（笑）
まあ、凄い人たちが常連のこちら、そんなに気合い入れなくてもいい商売ができるのだろう。老夫婦は本当はとても優しく人懐っこい人たちなので怖い目にあった人たちは残念でした、ということで！
