As I was wandering around Kanda to have a quick drink and head home, I noticed a new shop had opened just around the corner from the west exit shopping street. It looked like a small restaurant, and was run by the chef and his mother. First of all, I had a beer and ordered some food. The appetizer bowl was filled with soft-shelled turtle turtle. The bonito sashimi used was very fresh and had a lot of fat. It's called return bonito. The grilled Daisen chicken with Japanese pepper and the fried white shrimp are both carefully crafted and of high quality. It was for two people, but I was happy that they divided it into individual servings. They have a huge selection of Japanese sake, or rather Shinsei sake, and it seems like it's part of the owner's collection. Some were from nearly 10 years ago. I decided against ordering the bottle this time, but if you're going with a group of people, it might be a good idea to enjoy the rare Shinsei. Although the prices are a little high, I think it's a good place to have a drink alone.
