It's been a while since I've been to Ueno! Still feeling the excitement of the "Oyoshiwara Exhibition", I wandered around Ameyoko on an empty stomach.... It was before COVID-19, but even more so after COVID-19, the appearance of Ameyoko has changed drastically. All the restaurants are run by foreigners. I think there are fewer restaurants owned by Japanese people. It's like we're in a foreign country. We walked around, but there were only similar Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) and we couldn't decide where to go. Then, a waiter called out to us, and we were worried about "ordering four dishes is a must", but it was raining and we were hungry, so we decided to go in. First, we ordered draft beer. Cheers! We'll choose our food while drinking. Hmm. It seems that Seafood is their specialty. There are some unique and delicious snacks, but the prices are a bit touristy and we're worried (´ε`;) Hmm... For now, we ordered edamame! It sounds delicious, deep-fried negitoro! The classic, stewed offal! ◯ Edamame: I was happy that it came out warm. ◯ Fried green onions: I see, it was just as I imagined. It was just as tasty as usual. Three wrapped in shiso leaves, and three wrapped in nori seaweed. The flavor was surprisingly weak, so the cut lemon and soy sauce on the table were useful. ◯ Motsuni: This was a hit! It was rich and flavorful, and delicious. It was also unusual to use a lot of chili peppers, which was a nice accent. ・One glass of draft beer each ・Edamame ・Fried green onions ・One glass of motsuni each The bill was about 3,500 yen.
