上野の新しめのお店でフレンチをコース仕立てで出しているようで、気になっていました。結構な品数の割にお手頃なお値段。安いのは嬉しいですが、そうは言ってもお値段がクオリティに跳ね返ってもくるわけで・・・。少し調べてみると、シェフはホテルダイニングでお仕事をされていた様子。そこまで乱暴なものにはならなかろうと、行ってみることにしました。お店の場所は湯島近くの飲食店が多いあのエリア。たまにいいお店があるので、エリアによる良し悪しはわからず・・・。スタッフが出待ちしてくれていたので、外観の写真は撮影できませんでしたが、外観は普通のお店です。内装は、レストランというよりはバーカウンターのある飲み屋の居抜きっぽい感じです。格調高いフレンチというよりは、カジュアルユースのレストランという雰囲気です。
あらかじめ予約しておいたコースに合わせて、ワインをオーダー。コース価格に合わせたお手頃ワインで、特段劣化しているようなこともなく、普通に美味しかったです。コースは予想通りポーション少なめ。なので食事するというよりは、ワインに合わせたおつまみ的位置づけの食事かな。パンも出なかったですし。フレンチかなあ・・・？と思ったりもしますが、丁寧なドレッセでパキっと味が決まっていれば、それほど気になることもありません。もちろん家庭料理とは系統の違う味の決め方なので、わざわざ来た甲斐を感じさせる内容だと思います。居酒屋のように騒がしいこともないので、静かに話すには良いお店だと思います。無難of無難な感じなので、このエリアで食事に困ったらチョイスするような位置づけのお店という印象です。
