The basement of a multi-tenant building next to the busy Ameyoko street. Here is a shop that sells farm food from Northeast China. I feel like Northeastern Chinese cuisine has a lot of hotpot dishes that are similar to what we would call meat and potatoes in Japan. I decided to try the “Stewed Pork, Fried Tofu, and Vermicelli Hot Pot”! Immediately enter the store and place your order. This is my third time visiting this restaurant. The taste is good, the volume is great, and the cost performance is great. Perhaps because it's underground and it's a serious Chinese restaurant, the number of customers is about 70% even during the peak lunch hour of 1:00 on Sundays. Other tempura and Pork Cutlet restaurants have long lines, but you can get in easily here. Super hidden spot! ! If you order from the lunch menu, you'll get an all-you-can-eat buffet. In addition to egg soup, Karaage, Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles), white rice, okra pickled in soy sauce, and more, we also have kimchi and namul, tofu skin, and fruit punch. All of them are quite delicious. (Karaage is normal.) I don't know why kimchi and namul are served, but I think it's because the northeastern region of China is close to Korea, and there are a lot of Korean people there. It seemed like it was run by a family, so maybe the owner is Ethnic Cuisine. ) Then, the main dish, fried pork kakuni and tofu vermicelli in a clay pot, arrived. The meat has a solid part and a fatty part (collagen), making it chewy and delicious. The seasoning is basically soy sauce-based, so it appeals to Japanese tastes, but the faint star anise aroma gives it a Chinese feel. The tofu is soft and delicious, but it doesn't seem to be coated with potato starch like Japanese fried tofu, so I'm not sure if it's coated with potato starch or not. And the vermicelli is surprisingly delicious. It's a little thick and chewy, and absorbs the soy sauce-based soup well. There was no way these wouldn't go well with rice, so I ran back to the buffet shelf and got some white rice. They have a wide variety of Tohoku-style hot pot dishes, and they also have Tohoku's specialty kushiryo (corn skewers), so I wanted to try it out at night as well.
