西日暮里駅のJR出口2を出てすぐのところ、飲食店が何軒か並ぶエリアにある「西日暮里酒場 串まる」、両隣はラーメン屋さん。平日の22時ごろに帰りがけに初めて入ってみる。
訪問した週は「串揚げ全品99円」になっていて気になっていた。店内はコの字のカウンター10数席とそれを囲むように2〜4人掛けのテーブル席が並んでいる。
メニューは串揚げのほか、煮込みや鮮魚、酒の肴、お好み焼き・鉄板焼きの粉もんなどがある。ドリンクは400〜500円くらい。急ぎ目に食べたいメニューを頼んでいく。

串揚げはバットでまとめて提供、5本くらいずつ頼むのがペース的にいい。ラムカツは臭みなく、豚バラ、牛カツもお肉類は柔らかく99円ならかなりいい。
海鮮類も海老しそはプリプリ海老にしそがさっぱり感あってよく、ホタテも結構大きめ、キスもフワッとした白身て、ししゃもも1匹まるっと揚がり見た目もインパクトあり。
アスパラも一本まるっとでみずみずしさあって、串揚げはどれも外れはなかった。フライドポテトポテトは普通で、〆に粉もんをと豚玉かとんぺい焼きを迷ったが、豚玉焼きにした。
居酒屋のお好み焼きだからと軽く考えていたら、想像以上に本格的なのが出てきた。ソースやらマヨたっぷりでフワッと焼き上げられていて、ボリュームあって美味しかった。
全体的に良かった、席料が1人400円でお通しキャベツ。お支払いにはクレジットカードが使える。駅近便利で、今回食べなかった串揚げや他のつまみも気になるし、また来よう。
