ロブスターはまた今度
近くまで来たのでオイスターとロブスターを頂きに来ました。
なんとロブスターは6200円(時価)！予算オーバーで断念。
では生牡蠣をと思ったのですが、セットは8ピースと12ピースの2種類だけで一人では多すぎる。しかも4種類の組み合わせで物足りない。
予定変更して生牡蠣少々とカキフライ、ニューイングランド・クラムチャウダにしました。サービスのパンが付いてボリュームがありました。
オイスターバーの牡蠣フライはよいです。
次回はロブスターに挑戦したい。

ロブスターの旬の時期は知らないけれど、何故だか夏に食べたくなる。
久しぶりに品川のオイスターバーに来ました。ロブスターを食べるならココでしょう！
夕方５時台なので品川駅は大混雑、コンコースを抜けて東口のビルの４階へエスカレーターで上がります。
今日は予約してない (￣д￣;)、一人なのでなんとかカウンターに通して貰えました。
CANADIAN CLUB HIGH BALL ¥930

を注文。
最初にハイボールが到着、レモンの皮の渋さが上手く効いているようで、絶妙な味。家で真似できる気がしない、プロの味です。
ハイボールをチビチビやっていると、クラムチャウダーが登場しました。添えもののソーダクラッカーは定番、なぜかどこの店でも２枚なんですよね。それとアメリカのレストランでは自家製を自慢する説明をよく聞きます。ここは違うと思うけど。
フランスパン2切れとバターが付いて来ました。本場のサンフランシスコではパンをくり抜いてクラムチャウダーを入れて出すのが流行っているみたい。パンは２切れぐらいで十分な気がします。
最初はそのまま食べて、そのあとはクラッカーを割り入れます。この儀式が好きです。クラッカーを浮かべると納得のクラムチャウダーに変身します。
ロブスター君が登場！実は調理する前に店員さんが生簀から出してすぐに見せに来てくれました。さっきは青黒い姿だったのが、真っ赤になって再登場！
ロブスターを説明するのは難しいです。新鮮なのでプリッとした食感がよく、独特な味わい、頭の殻を割ってエビ味噌?もしっかり頂きました。来て良かった。
ロブスターの付け添えはボイルしたジャガイモでした。塩味控えめな主菜とバランスがいいです。物足りない方は塩をお願いするのが良いと思います。
何より美味しいジャガイモは、そのままや溶かしバター、フランスパンについて来たバターで食べ尽くしました。
