旧東海道、品川宿へ上がる道の入り口の角にある「居残り 連」。
周囲の雰囲気に合った、昭和レトロな情緒ある建物です。
この不思議な響きの店名は、古典落語"居残り佐平治"に由来するらしい。
落語に登場する老舗鰻屋が閉店し、その跡をご近所の天ぷら屋の長男が受け継いで開店させたとか。
地元の商店街が一体となって開店させたらしく、「連」はそこから来ているとのこと。
以上、一緒に行った方から聞いた受け売りです(笑)
料理は、イタリアン、フレンチ、和食その他がブレンドされた多国籍料理。
特に美味しかったのは、豚の角煮とカルパッチョ。
角煮は、いろいろなスパイスが複雑に効いていて味わい深い。
カルパッチョは、素材が新鮮。コリコリとした歯ごたえがたまらない。
建物の老朽化なのか？2階の床はやや傾いていたような。それとも飲みすぎたかな。
アクセスがやや不便だけど、昭和レトロの時代に旅をした気分でした。
