地方に行くと夜の繁華街は賑やかだが、昼間の商店街はシャッター通りに変容している地域が多い。だが、東京だけはどの商店街も、昭和の匂いと昔ながらの賑わいが変わらない心躍る場所だ。どの店もちゃんと営業していて、商店街を行き交う住民も多いから、子供の頃母親に連れられて買い物にきた記憶も蘇り、懐かしい気持ちが湧いてくる。この青物横丁もそんな街で、夜の飲み屋を目当てに時たま訪れる。そんな青物横丁に、イタリアンの大衆酒場を見つけたので訪ねた。
ローストビーフやピザ、パスタが美味しいと評判の店だが、生ビールやワイン飲み放題で5500円のコースを選んでみた。レバーペーストの前菜、生ハムサラダ、キッシュ、カリカリのパン、豚肉のソテー、しらすとバジルのパスタ、マルガリータと料理はどれも美味しいし、ワインがすすむ。桜は満開には程遠く、一分咲きの桜ではあったが、ワインに酔い、イタリアンに酔い、良い花見の前哨戦となった。
