午後からずっと大井町で仕事をしていた流れで、知人とも大井町で待ち合わせ。以前から気になっていた「北海王」さんにお邪魔しました。場所は、大井町駅中央西口を出て、区役所通りを西に進むとすぐ右側にあります。

店舗は高架下なので、少し階段を降りて入店。大きな厨房とカウンター、奥にテーブルが並んでいます。開店直後でしたが、８割ぐらいの席が埋まっています。私達は、テーブル席に案内されました。

まずはビールで乾杯。普通のものだけでなく、様々なクラフトビールが揃っていました。中から「大沼ビール IPA」をチョイス北海道大沼で作られている地ビールで、イングリッシュスタイルのIPA。ホップの苦味がよく効いています。そして料理は、以下をお願いしました。

見事なまでに、北海道食材ばかりです。私は比較的よく北海道に行くので、珍しさよりも記憶を確認する様な感じでしょうか。ただ反対に、本場の味を知っているだけに、そこまでの感動はありませんでした。まあ、やはり食べ物はその地で食べるのが一番美味しいということですね。あと、食べ物のバリエーションが少なめなので、もう一工夫欲しいところかも。

中では、メインの「サフォークと季節野菜のグリル」が美味しかったです。生ラムを使っている為、焼き加減はかなりレアでも全く問題無く、ラムならではの旨味に溢れていました。焼き野菜も色とりどりで美しく、特にアスパラガスはさすがの美味しさでした。

ドリンクは、その後も「北海道 ツヴァイゲルト」「北海道 メロンエール」等、地ビールをいただきました。特に気に入ったのが「ガージェリー・スタウト」。調べてみると、2002年創業の飲食店でした飲めない樽詰めビールらしく、私は初めて飲みました。発酵・熟成に100日以上かけて、飲食店からの注文があってから樽詰めし、それを冷蔵で配送しているのだそうです。スタウトならではの甘さと香ばしさが共存していて、黒ビール好きなら絶対に気にいる味わいでした。

少し辛口のレビューになりましたが、北海道の美味しい食材を食べてもらいたいという心意気は、充分に感じることが出来ました。2017年創業とのことですので、まだまだ発展途上なのだと思います。今後に期待したいですね。
