In Gotanda, Tokyo, there is a food and drink alley called Gotanda Sakurakoji under the Tokyu Ikegami Line guard in front of the Meguro River, which is famous for its cherry blossoms in full bloom in spring. When I was looking for a place to have lunch, Tabelog came up at the top of the list in the area around my current location, and the restaurant that caught my eye was Kaiya Ajikai, located near the entrance of this alley. It seems to be a restaurant in the middle of Shinagawa with an abundance of seafood, just as its copy of "Hamayaki" suggests. The lunch menu is all within 1,000 yen. I was interested in the "Benihaku-don" (red and white rice bowl), but on my first visit, I chose the "Negitoro-Yukke-don" (Negitoro-Yukke bowl with negitoro (tuna) for 800 yen. Within 5 minutes of placing an order, the dish was delivered to the table. This is ideal for lunch when time is limited. The yukke is seasoned, so we were told to eat it as it is. The yukke (tuna), sesame seeds, green onions, onions, chopped nori (seaweed), and brightly colored egg yolk all play a role in what should be called a yukke-don (yukke bowl). A mouthful with high expectations. It has just the right amount of miso flavor. This is delicious! I gobbled it up in one gulp. I finished it in less than three minutes. This is definitely a repeat customer!
