松陰神社の近く、デジタルの光が案内する未知の店へ。神社の静けさからわずか10分、歩みを進めることでたどり着いたのは、開店早々にも関わらず、既に予約で賑わう人気の蕎麦屋でした。日曜日の午前、時刻は11時30分、我々は幸運にもその門をくぐることができました。
我が家の選択は、野菜天ぷら蕎麦（冷）で2,310円【私】、三陸産新ワカメを使用した若竹蕎麦は1,760円【妻】、そして、海の味わいが溢れるしらすおろしせいろで1,320円【長女】。
野菜天ぷらは、春の息吹を感じさせるタケノコやゼンマイ、春菊、そしてタラの芽が盛り合わせられ、四季を告げる使者のよう。ただ、惜しくも特別な感動には至らず、油の選び方一つで天界の味わいに変わる可能性を秘めていました。
野菜天ぷらと共に提供された冷たい醤油系の天つゆは、従来の味わいから一線を画すものであり、その変わり種の味は、一部の探究心旺盛な舌には新鮮な挑戦と映るかもしれませんが、残念ながら伝統の味を求める者にとっては違和感を覚えること無きにしも非ず。その試みは称賛に値しますが、この特異な味のアプローチは、天ぷらの本質を引き立てるというよりも、むしろその繊細な味わいを掻き消す方向に働いてしまっているように感じられました。テーブルに常備されていた岩塩がその窮地を救ってくれました。
蕎麦は、その風味、香り、色合いが見事に調和し、ひとくちごとに素朴ながら深い味わいが口の中に広がります。特に、塩がその味を一層引き立てるのです。
家族もまた、それぞれの蕎麦を堪能し、その美味しさに満ち足りた様子。
訪れたその場所は、ただの食事処ではなく、日常から少し離れた特別な時間と空間を提供してくれました。心より感謝を込めて、ご馳走様でした。
