笹塚駅の南口は良い店がある匂いがする
そんな予感が外れてないことを裏付ける店がまた1つ
実際に観音様が祀られているその名も観音通り商店街は昔ながらの商店と小洒落た感じの店がいい感じで併存、その最奥部にこの店はあるが、確実に良い店のオーラが漂う
店名に冠される大衆酒場というフレーズから北区などにある昭和な酒場を勝手にイメージしていたが、その期待?は店に入り良い意味で裏切られる
ま、渋谷区なんだから、という向きもあろうが、私は笹塚や幡ヶ谷あたりのちょっと下町風情なところが好きなのでここまでお洒落というか小綺麗なのは想定外だった
しかしいわゆるお洒落を全面に出してデートには良いけど味は普通かな?という店と本店は一線を画す、間違いなく
それは、例えばネギがこれでもかと盛られた白レバーのオリジナリティや、定番の串のももの感動的なまでに豊潤な歯ごたえ等に如実にあらわれている
オリジナルなメニューと定番のバランスも絶妙だ
そして細部にこだわっているのは料理そのもののみならず例えば盛られる食器の多彩さにもあらわれているし、或いはメニューそれじたいのレイアウトも平凡に見えるがなかなかなのものだ
観音通り商店街の奥地に佇む大衆居酒屋にて旧友3名と呑む
