大塚へ行き、比較的最近整備された「東京大塚のれん街」に店を捜して見ることに。「日本のサンセバスチャン」というコピーが意味不明で面白い。どこのリゾートだよ。
10店舗くらいある中から居酒屋「酒肴 北斎」に入店。非常に真っ当な居酒屋で、酒もツマミも豊富なメニューから選べるが、よくある内容と思いきや、味付けや構成にちょいちょい個性的な要素を入れ込んでいる。蒸籠で出てくる枝豆や、江戸黒味噌と仙台赤味噌で仕上げたモツ煮込み、アヒージョならぬ《キノコのだしージョ》などなど面白美味い。
酒もあれこれ楽しむが、葡萄割り、梅割りがあったのでつい頼んでしまい、予想通りの酩酊状態。お店では大丈夫だったが、帰り道は結構フラフラになっていた。
〆でいただいた濃厚釜玉うどんが、揚げ玉が入って意外な美味さで嬉しかった。たらふくいただき満足満腹。
