There is a small shopping street at the south exit of JR Higashijujo Station in Kita Ward, Tokyo. There are restaurants, but many of the buildings are dilapidated and may feel deserted. On this day, I went to one of Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) ``Tsuchikatsu''. This is a Seafood restaurant. There's a cat in front of the store! It appears to be the store's pet cat. I'm sure it's a signboard cat. We keep turban shells and shrimp in the store, but these are for eating. Unlike cats, they are not pets. Two of the lunch set menus feature whale Meat Dishes. Sashimi and fried Tatsuta. I was hesitant, but I ordered "Kujira Tatsuta Fried Gohan" (950 yen including tax). This may be my first time eating whale meat. It gave me the impression that it was fish-like meat. Tatsutaage is served in many small bite-sized pieces. Enjoy with lemon or mayonnaise if you like. The set meal also comes with rice, wakame miso soup, two Small dish, and a piece of fruit (one pear slice) as an after-meal dessert. The amount of miso soup is small considering the size of the bowl. Why. Small dish were all unique and had a strong flavor. I think people are very picky about this. Many young people may not be good at it.
