国分寺駅北口繁華街にある居酒屋。
いかにもな店名ではあるが大資本によるチェーン店ではないようだ。某飲み会にお呼ばれしての遠征に。
しかし、店外に出ている看板を見ると一律〇〇〇円以下！とか思いっきり安さを前面に押し出しているので入店前に気持ちがすっかり萎える…
雑居ビル地下へと続く階段を降りていくと当店に。天井もそれほど高くなく、圧迫感がある。
鰻の寝床みたいな座敷が数列あって、比較的若い（学生のほうが多いか？）お客でにぎわっている。
とりあえずの生ビールを注文すると最初の乾杯は店員さんに音頭を取ってもらえるサービスが。サンプル品の中ジョッキを片手に「今日も一日お疲れ様でした～！」っと。ちょっと照れますが、まぁ趣向としては面白いかも。瞬く間に一体感の生じたオヤジ集団。
つまみのオーダーは同行者に丸投げして巨大な鶏ももの揚げ物や刺身、シーザーサラダ、玉子焼きに、コーンバター？などなどがテーブル上を賑わせたが値段も値段なので刺身には食指が動かず揚げ物中心にビールで流し込んだ。まぁ安いと言えば安いが全体的には値段ナリだと思われ。
途中、トイレに立った時に余所のテーブルをチラ見すると何やら四角い器を火にかけて突っつきあっている光景に出合い「？」と思ったが、なんともんじゃ焼きなんだそうな。うーむ、居酒屋でもんじゃつつきますか…もんじゃ焼きって小さな器でコジコジしているとまるで旨そうに見えない。
という事で、久しぶりのオオバコ・個室系・デフレ居酒屋体験。
確かに差別化と言う意味ではいろんな工夫の後が見られるが、残念ながら琴線に触れるものは少なかった。
どーせ安く手軽になら天狗や養老あたりで酔った方が気持ちよく酔っ払えるはずだな…
