At Ootoya, which has a bright glass wall that allows you to see the interior from the outside, there are a lot of female customers, and at Marudai, there are a lot of male customers, especially one male customer, perhaps because the exterior of Marudai is an izakaya Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) where you can't see inside. When you step behind the white noren curtain, you will see a calm interior with mainly box seats for four people, which is a little surprising when you enter with the image of Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). I've been using the Musashi-Koganei store, which is closer to my home, but I suddenly got curious and decided to visit the Kokubunji store as well. It's a fairly large store, and if you go in front of the kitchen on the left, there are booth seats in front of the kitchen, and some have unique booths for two people. In the back there is a private room and a tatami room with a sunken kotatsu. While the Musashi-Koganei store is more of a Showa-era Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) style hall, this Kokubunji store has a slightly more upscale feel, with a strong Japanese-style meal restaurant atmosphere. The menu is extremely rich, including stews, pork soup, fried chicken, sashimi platters, grilled fish, boiled fish, grilled ginger, Hamburg, fried horse mackerel, and more. There is also a wide variety of rice bowl dishes such as Ten-don (tempura rice bowl) Seafood Bowl, tempura bowl, and katsudon. We have everything from fried rice, Omelette Rice rice, curry, Ramen, Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles), udon, etc. There are also about 40 types of single items such as fried chicken and Croquette. It's amazing that you can find anything you want to eat. For the rice, you can choose from a standard size 350gr rice, a 50 yen discount for a smaller size Ochobo, and a large size, Mokkori, and Chomolangma (the towering bowl of rice is spectacular).
