The place is overflowing with clutter right up to the road boundary. I hesitated for a moment because the storefront imitates the atmosphere of a food stall, but when I looked inside, the inside was also bustling. It is a Thai Cuisine restaurant. I went for lunch, but there is no lunch menu, and I chose from an album menu of food photos. All the staff at the restaurant seem to be Japanese. I ordered a salad for an appetizer and Khao Man Gai, the signature dish of the restaurant, for the main course. They said they had run out of green papaya, so I ordered Yam Takrai for the appetizer. Takrai (lemongrass) is the soft part of the dish, and it is mixed with shrimp, minced meat, green onions, cashew nuts, etc. and stir-fried, and then wrapped in the lettuce that is served with it. It has a good texture and is delicious. It is quite spicy, and they ask if I want it adjusted, so I ask them to reduce the spiciness a little. Thanks to the effects of the lemongrass, my digestive system is good today. For the main course, I choose Khao Man Gai Tod. It is fried chicken instead of steamed chicken. It has a good texture. The Thai rice has a subtle curry flavor. As the appetizer was quite filling, I opted for a small portion, but the taste worked up my appetite, so the regular size may have been fine. Looking at the photos, it looks quite authentic, but the taste seems to have been seasoned to suit Japanese tastes as well. Overall, it's delicious. Plenty of vegetables, fresh and healthy. The two lunch dishes came to about ¥1.7k in total, which is reasonable considering the amount of food. Thai Cuisine is characterised by its spicy and sour flavours, but as we approach the summer heat, it's ideal cuisine and I think I'll be visiting more often. *230416 Correction - Excuse me for missing a decimal point in the price
