I remember coming here a few times as a student, but I had a rather lackluster impression of Tachikawa. The monorail is now running, and large buildings have been built, so it has undergone a great transformation. Among all of this, my wife found this restaurant and made a reservation. We entered the restaurant at the same time as it opened for lunch. We were shown to a table. The full course lunch of meat and fish was 6,050 yen. If you choose one dish, it would be 3,850 yen. This time we had the full course. First, white peach soup. A cold white peach soup with celery and matcha granita. The sweetness and aroma of the white peach was exquisite. This made me look forward to what came next. Next was an assortment of six seasonal appetizers. Six types of appetizers were served on one plate. - Seaweed, conger eel, and burdock - Pork tenderloin, maitake mushrooms, and green chili peppers. The maitake mushrooms were delicious, and the pork tenderloin was crispy and delicious. - The grilled eggplant mousse was a fragrant grilled eggplant flavored mousse with sesame seeds and cookie-like things on top. - Sea bream with watermelon and tomato - Conchiglie insalata - Delicious salad stuffing inside large conchiglie - Two-coloured cauliflower - Purple cauliflower with cauliflower paste underneath. Delicious. Everything is elaborate and delicious. This is amazing. The pasta is casarecce, a specialty of Sicily, made with sardines and fennel. The other is an assortment of salsiccia, sissipi (a combination of shishito peppers and bell peppers) and paprika sauce. The salsiccia is delicious. It's also quite filling. The main fish is Aomori flounder meunière with fermented tomato and basil sauce. The flounder is chewy and flavoursome. Winter melon is cooked underneath in chestnut stock. There are two types of sauce. Basil soaked in oil. The basil aroma is nice. Fermented tomatoes are placed on top. The fermented tomatoes are slightly sweet. The main meat is Hyuga local chicken diavola. Topped with a lemon-flavoured fond de veau sauce. Grilled thighs of Miyazaki's Hyuga Jidori chicken. The sauce is fond de veau with lemon added to give it a sour taste and just the right amount of bitterness. It's delicious. You can choose between dessert or cheese, but today I chose dessert. An assortment of three kinds. Kiwi sorbet. Yogurt mousse with pineapple. Canlino is stuffed with orange, mascarpone, and chestnuts. The passion fruit sauce that comes with it is also refreshing. It is accompanied by an espresso coffee and small sweets of pecan nuts and orange chocolate. This is also delicious. It didn't come with focaccia, but it was quite a large portion. It was a great course in terms of both taste and service. I made a reservation for my next time and left the restaurant. Tachikawa is truly formidable.
