Location: 2-3 minutes walk from JR Hachioji Station. It's not too far from the station and the way to the restaurant is easy to find. Inside the restaurant: All seats are private. The room we were shown to had a stylish feel with light-colored walls and black chairs. There were six of us, but we didn't feel particularly cramped. Menu lineup: Of course, the standard menu that you would find in Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) is fully stocked. The restaurant's specialty seems to be chicken dishes and creative Japanese-style meal. Food: I used my compensatory day off for the New Year's holiday to meet up with my friends from my school days in Tokyo. It turned into a class reunion and New Year's party. The venue was in Hachioji, away from the city center, so it was easy for the members to gather, and fortunately the restaurant was quickly arranged, so I was relieved. I ordered a 10-dish + 120-minute all-you-can-drink course. It started with edamame as an appetizer, followed by chicken and matsutake chawanmushi, special chicken skin ponzu sauce, and a seasonal creative Japanese salad, which were the appetizers. By the time these dishes disappeared into our stomachs, we had drunk quite a bit, the conversation was lively, and the food started with fried dishes, starting with grilled scallops, French fries, fried young chicken, and crispy fried shrimp. We finished with Noodles, a delicious and spicy Mazesoba (Soupless noodles). Sometimes people finish with rice porridge, but personally I prefer Noodles, especially soba noodles over udon, so I was grateful for that. We finished with a sorbet for dessert, which brought the spicy tongue back to normal. The two hours flew by. It was a good deal at 2,500 yen plus tax. If you still can't drink, you can extend the time by an hour for an additional 800 yen. The regret of not being able to take a break over the New Year's holidays was completely gone, and we were able to enjoy the New Year's reunion party in a good mood.
