Ryokan Yamadaya (1-5-36, Karo-machi Kita, Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture) Yamadaya has a history of more than 200 years since the end of Edo period, located in Tottori Port on the west side across the Chiyogawa River next to Tottori Sand Dunes. The summer specialty of Karo Port is squid. During the season from June to September, a large number of fishing boats depart from the port, and their fishing fires are a summer tradition in Tottori. Seafood Seafood The original squid bowl using this squid is Yamadaya's specialty, and can be enjoyed in three different ways. Seafood Bowl The view of the harbor from the window is a great way to take your meal to the next level. I was curious about the ikako-don, but did not want to get lost, so I ordered the original ika-don without asking what it was! The first one is topped with Yamadaya's secret sauce. The squid is sweet and tasty, and the secret sauce goes well with the sushi rice and the squid. The second way to enjoy this dish is to try the teriyaki squid under the vinegared rice, and you will find the richness of the squid's geso and the inside of the squid called "uru". The third way to enjoy squid is to add grated radish to the rice, which is served with salted squid, pickled squid, and grated radish as desired. The season of white squid is from June to September, but you can enjoy squid all year round at Yamadaya.
