Akari-ya is a Japanese-style Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that opened in October 2007. The motto of the owner, who is from Osaka, and his wife, who is from Tottori, is "cherish the smiles of our famil |
Choose your daily set meal (pork loin ginger fried) for 800 yen. It was raining quite a bit on this day, so I decided to stop by this Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), located near the red Hanami Bridge over the Fukuro River on Hanamibashi Street. They started serving lunch a few months ago, but since it was a set meal, I put it off lol. Around 1pm, it was a Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) with simple table seating at the counter and a tatami room in the back. I wonder if it was the owner and his wife? The previous customers were regulars at the counter and in the tatami room in the back. We were given tea and a towel, and ordered ginger pork. When asked what size rice we wanted, we said normal. They make it from scratch, so we waited a little and it arrived. In addition to the ginger pork, there were two Small dish dishes, salad, pickles, rice and soup, and a rich lineup. The ginger pork was about six bite-sized pieces of tender pork loin, hot and delicious with a sweet sauce with ginger and onions. It was just like the ginger pork I imagined, and it went down well with rice. The salad was lettuce and baby leaves with a pile of mayonnaise, and it was fresh and nice. Small dish was probably curry stir-fried cabbage and ginger sauce? It was a side dish, so it was a cold dish, but it was well seasoned and went down well with rice. The other dish was mapo tofu with a not-spicy Japanese-style sauce? It was warm and tasty, and the tofu was also good. I thought the rice was a bit too much, with a mountain of it, but it was cooked to a firm texture and the side dishes were tasty, so I ate it all up lol. The soup was different, with a soy sauce flavour similar to kenchinjiru soup, and the ingredients were chikuwa, burdock and carrots. It was a little sweet, which was an interesting flavour. The kappa pickles were also a nice touch. I finished it all in no time, it was delicious and filling, and for what it contains, it's cheap! There is a daily selection so it looks like there will be lots to enjoy. Now that I know what the atmosphere is like, I might be able to go at night too, I'll come again~
