Sakaiminato in Tottori Prefecture is one of the largest fishing port towns in Japan. Other Sakaiminato is famous for bluefin tuna and Matsuba crab, but it is also home to horse mackerel, mackerel, sardines, and many other fish. Many kinds of fish are landed in Sakaiminato. In Sakaiminato, there is a souvenir shop called "Tairyo Ichiba Nakaura" (Rest stop?), which is often mentioned in sightseeing guides. There is a store like "Tairyo Ichiba Nakaura" which is often mentioned in tourist guides. The only restaurant attached to "Nakaura" is Yumigahama. It is a Seafood restaurant with the atmosphere of THE sightseeing Restaurants, but it seems to have a good reputation for its taste because it is located in Sakaiminato, a fishing port town. This time I went to lunch on a holiday and there was quite a line, but I ate with my family and went. Seafood Bowl The menu is ...... and the specialty of this restaurant is "Kanitoro-don" (crab toro bowl), but I had already eaten a lot of Seafood Bowl that morning...^^; So I decided to have "Sakaiminato Fried Horse Mackerel Set Meal" for 1500 yen including tax this time. Fried horse mackerel is one of my favorite foods, and Sakaiminato is famous for its horse mackerels. So here is the set meal. It consists of two fried horse mackerels, aji no tataki (Small dish), rice, miso soup (crab soup), pickles, mozuku seaweed, and ume nameko mushrooms. （The waiter said the fried horse mackerel was "big," but I guess it was a medium size. It was indeed a delicious fried horse mackerel. By the way, it comes with tartar and sauce, but I enjoyed it best with a dash of soy sauce. The horse mackerel tataki is a very small portion, but I was glad to have it, and it tasted fresh and delicious. The other items such as Small dish are also usually tasty. However, since it is a fried horse mackerel set meal that costs 1500 yen, I feel this much is normal...(^_^;) I wonder if it is more special to eat Seafood Bowl in this restaurant.
