"Ito" has a stately and imposing appearance that would be a little difficult to enter unless you were told about it by a friend in Wakayama. It is a 5-minute walk from Wakayama Station. Upon entering, the first thing you will notice is the scent of cypress, a pure Kyoto-style atmosphere. The private room we were shown to is located inside a Wakayama house, but from the low-hanging window we could enjoy a wabi-sabi miniature garden, symbolized by a moss-covered lantern. The food was authentic Kyoto kaiseki, and the full course of appetizers, sashimi, soup, hassun, and dessert was reasonably priced at 3,500 yen. It was a space that made us forget that we were in Wakayama. It was like we had been teleported to Kyoto, like a different dimension.
