I went here for lunch when I visited the Shonai region for work. Unlike inland Yamagata, Shonai is close to the Sea of Japan, so the fish is apparently delicious. It's like Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) at night, but the lunch menu is mainly rice bowls such as Seafood Bowl. There is a standard Seafood Bowl for 1000 yen and a 1500 yen one with bluefin tuna. I ordered the standard Seafood Bowl, thinking I don't really need to pay 500 yen for bluefin tuna. The fish was just as tasty, but not particularly impressive. If it was a little cheaper, it would have made me feel like the sea is really close. Or maybe the portions were amazing. Thank you for the meal.
