I visited on a Thursday in mid-April. I went to the restaurant to get a reservation ticket, which is distributed from 9:30 in the morning. When I arrived about 5 minutes early, there was no one in line and the entrance was open, so I went in and the owner greeted me with a smile. I chose 12:50 and will visit again. I was wondering whether to order the special bowl, but I ordered the Unagi Mabushi. I was wondering whether to order the extra rice for 150 yen, but I decided on the regular. When the Unagi Mabushi arrived, the eel was grilled to a fragrant finish. You can't see it in the photo, but the eel is in three layers. I thought there wouldn't be enough rice, but as I ate, the bowl was packed with rice. That's why the extra rice is extra. The good thing about Mabushi is that you can enjoy a lot of eel and rice in multiple ways. Next time I come to Nagoya, I'll book a nearby hotel.
