昨日の昼は鰻を食べた。この店は大須にあるが、なんと90年の歴史があるという。店は小さいが最近改装されたのか、店内は今風できれいだ。いただいたのは出汁巻入りの上うな重で￥4,850円だ。まあ、いつの間にか鰻は高級料理になってしまったが、私が子供の頃はありふれた食材だったように思う。さて、このセットは御飯は弁当箱の下に単独で入っていて、自分で鰻を載せて食べる。最近食べた鰻は、肉厚が薄過ぎて、名古屋の表面をパリッとクリスピーに焼くと内部の水分が飛んでしまい、あまり美味しく無かったという経験が多かったのだが、今回の鰻は久々の大ヒットで、肉厚が厚くてジューシーで表面はパリッっと焼きあがっており、素晴らしい鰻だった！
