The owner, HIRO, has an unusual background as a chef. He first became interested in cooking when he went to Los Angeles for college because he wanted to study geography, which he loved (he always had top marks in geography during high school). There, he was exposed to the local food culture. He was impressed by Restaurants culture in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, which is not only delicious but also highly entertaining. After returning to Japan and working at an educational institution, he decided to open Sumiyaki Yutaka, the predecessor of Hiro Nagoya.

Hiro Nagoya does not have an ala carte menu, but only offers selection course. The main ingredient is local Aichi brand beef, which HIRO grills over charcoal with all his might.
