I worked in Matsuyama, and I happened to wander into this store for a few years because I liked its atmosphere, and it's a store I always stop by when I come to Matsuyama. I had made a reservation, so I was able to get in, but when I went to the restaurant at the time of my reservation, it was full. It was a typhoon with heavy rain and wind, but there didn't seem to be any cancellations, which gave me a sense of how popular this restaurant was. This time, we sat in the deep kotatsu room in the back, ordered drinks, toasted, and then ordered food.・Chinese cabbage salted kelp The saltiness of salted kelp, the taste of the special dressing, and the crunchy feel of Chinese cabbage make this dish a good match for beer, sake, and a variety of other alcoholic beverages. This is a must-order menu item, and I ordered it twice this time.・Tsukune Personally, I have yet to meet more delicious meatballs than here. I go to many Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and try it, but this one is my favorite. I love the softness of the meat, the juiciness, the flavor of the chicken, and the taste of the sauce. Many restaurants eat the meatballs by dipping them in eggs, but personally I don't really like that method and prefer to have the meatballs as a standalone item.・Shrimp Shiso: Tender shrimp wrapped with shiso and pork belly and grilled. The combination of a little bit of salt, the texture of the shrimp, the freshness of the shiso, and the flavor of the pork is irresistible.・George's Chicken Fried chicken marinated in a special light sauce. Because it is soaked in sauce, the batter is not crispy or crunchy, but it is juicy and goes well with the mustard.・Roasted Bacon Salad Thickly sliced bacon is sprinkled on lettuce covered with dressing, and a warm egg is placed in the middle. It's a dish that makes you no longer know what a salad is. It's not listed on the menu these days, but I checked with the staff and they said it was available, so I was able to eat it again this time.・Curry Zousui I also like soup chicken rice when it comes to spicy rice, but it's also hard to throw away. Mix the egg yolk into the well-spiced curry and mix it all together before enjoying. Since the portions are large, we recommend sharing it with two or more people. The Chinese cabbage salt kelp and grilled bacon salad are available in half sizes, so it's easy for even one person to order. On the way, we sampled local Ehime sake such as Ishizuchi and Eiko. By the time I finished eating and went home, there were quite a few seats at the counter, but I was told that they still had reservations. We recommend that you make a reservation or call to confirm before going.
