Hiroshima Beef Shabu-shabu Rice Bowl (1,650 yen) I visited for lunch. I went without making a reservation and the restaurant was full, but I was guided to a counter seat that had become available at the right time. The layout is a counter in the front, a private table in the back, and space on the second floor. I checked the menu and found that in addition to lunch, I could order the regular menu and courses. However, my purpose was the Aohige Main Branch Lunch Set, so I ordered the Hiroshima Beef Shabu-shabu Rice Bowl from that category. The lunch set comes with a small sardine salad and a conger eel soup, and after those arrived, the main bento box arrived. When I opened the lid, the sweet aroma of the fat wafted through the air, stimulating my hunger. Since it was shabu-shabu meat, it was cut thin, but the texture was a little hard and it was satisfying to eat, and at the same time, the rich saltiness and the gentle sweetness of the fat matched well with the rice. The rice was cooked quite hard to match the bento box, so I couldn't stop eating it, and it went great with not only the meat but also the Hiroshima pickled greens. The rich salty and fatty flavours of the bento box are washed down with a conger eel broth soup, leaving a clean aftertaste.
