落ち着いた内装と照明の室内で、ゆっくりと美味しい朝食をいただくことができた。
厳島神社がモチーフの切り絵風の壁面照明は柔らかな光を投げかけてくれて室内の落ち着きと、雰囲気作りに一役買っている。
ホテルグランビア広島ではコロナウィルスの感染を防ぐために洋朝食もブッフェスタイルでの提供を休止してセットで出していると言う。和食はもともと和朝食のセットスタイルだったのだろう。
スタッフもマスクをして和装で給仕してくれる。
食事の場のマスクは衛生上そもそもいいよなと思いつつ、和装に合うマスクがあってもいいなとも思う。
マスクが世界的に不足している中で不謹慎かもしれないが…。
朝食のポイントであるご飯は80点を超える高得点を差し上げたい。炊き立てのねっとりふっくら炊けたご飯。甘味の要素は特に強いわけでは無いが、副菜やメシ友の佃煮などに手をつけると2杯はするりと胃の腑に収まって行った。
しゃもじ型の笹かまぼこが可愛らしくサバの横に添えてあるのが廣島を感じさせる。
その他にはシラスや広島菜の漬物など、説明が有ればもっと広島の朝を堪能できるのかもしれない。
外国人の客が数組やはり和朝食を選んでいる。コロナ戒厳令下の日本によく来てくれたと思う。せめても朝食くらいは日本を楽しんでもらいたい。
一組は英語、一組はエスパニョール。心地の良い朝の時間は世界共通。いい朝食でした。
