Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1975, Nakagawa decided to pursue a career in cooking after working a part-time job during his student days, and was hired by a major chain restaurant, where he gained specialist knowledge and skills in not only cooking but also management. Having rediscovered his passion for chicken dishes, he opened "Tori Ichizu" in 2008. It has become a famous restaurant frequented by not only locals but also gourmets from all over the country. We will be keeping an eye on Nakagawa's future as he pours extraordinary passion into not only the selection of ingredients, but also the seasoning, cooking, and tableware.

The skewers are made with "Tankai Jidori" chicken, raised in a free-spirited environment on a chicken farm in Shiga Prefecture. This high-quality chicken has a rich flavor, a variety of elasticity, and juicy meat. In addition to Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), you can also enjoy appetizers made with seasonal locally sourced ingredients, as well as a la carte dishes that highlight the owner's sensibility. The "sashimi" is particularly outstanding, as it is made with fresh chicken. Enjoy this luxurious adult moment with sake carefully selected by the owner's discerning eye.

Tori Ichizu is tucked away in a quiet residential area close to the station. Step inside and you'll find a modern space unified with soft lighting, which is unusual for Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant. There are seven seats at the beautiful, slender counter. The seats are spaced far apart, allowing you to indulge in a luxurious time without worrying about those around you, which is one of the restaurant's charms. The single pillar of Japanese elm that catches the eye of customers is a symbol of the restaurant's name Tori Ichizu, and it continues to powerfully support the restaurant today.
