A relaxing, homey Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) you can drop in on your way home from work. Cheap and delicious local flavors!
Bonyu, a 10-minute walk from JR Morioka Station, is a cheap and delicious Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) perfect for office workers on their way home from work. It's on the third floor of a building, so
... the entrance is a bit of a hideaway, but inside, the relaxing, homey atmosphere will make you want to say "I'm back!" Most of the menu items are low-priced, so it's a wallet-friendly restaurant. The most popular dish is the fluffy and hearty "Dashimaki Tamago." The standard sashimi and yakitori dishes are made with fresh, local ingredients, such as fish from Sanriku and chicken from Iwate Prefecture. There are seats at the counter, raised areas, and even a large hall, and the restaurant can accommodate a wide range of groups, from small to large. The banquet course with two hours of all-you-can-drink is reasonably priced, so it's a recommended restaurant for parties.
