吉田町に野毛おでんというおでん屋がある。
1903年（明治三十六年）、横浜開港でにぎわう現在の野毛交差点付近にて屋台からがはじまりで、
その後、1913年（大正二年）に今の吉田町に移転したとある。
店内の客席は広く、厨房も広い。
重厚な木板のテーブルやお品書きなど、古き良き時代の質感を感じる。
正面のカウンターの上には、大きな木板の書が掲げられている。
慎其独(そのひとりをつつしむ)
人が見ていないところでもその行ないをつつしむ
今の世でいう社是かな？
ランチタイムは二時までということで、急ぎ、注文した。
◯ おでん定食 ¥1,000
おでんは、
ガンモ、ちくわ麩、たまご、大根、木綿豆腐、天ぷら、つみれ
いずれもよく煮込まれ出汁が染み込んでいる。
これに、ごはんとしじみの味噌汁、お新香が付いてくる。
これは、熱燗に合いそうだ。
さて、今年もあますところ、後一週間。
慎其独の教えをしっかり守って行こう。
