BEIGNET Kyoto Kodaiji is a French cuisine Fried Skewers located 15 to 20 minutes walk from Gion French cuisine Shijo Station. This French cuisine restaurant comes into view as you exit Gion Shijo and walk towards Yasaka Shrine and Kodaiji Temple. It has a wonderful Japanese atmosphere that blends in with the beautiful cityscape, and you won't feel the distance from the station. This restaurant is famous for its fluffy beignet Fried Skewers made with beer, as well as meat and Seafood slowly grilled over charcoal.The customer service is courteous and cozy, and I'm looking forward to its future growth. This time I received the chef's selection course for 11,000 yen. The course starts with a churro made with Junmai Ginjo sake lees, which has a crunchy exterior and a fluffy interior, topped with sea urchin. Returned bonito, fruit tomatoes, Kujo green onions, and pickled myoga with an impressive smoked aroma that permeates your nostrils. A beignet with soft oil-absorbed eggplant, refreshing plum meat tomato sauce, and flavorful Genovese sauce that go perfectly together. A soft and fluffy cutlass fish with the sweetness of carrots and the flavor of beer. A mellow and sweet vin blanc sauce made with Saikyo miso and white wine, and seasonal autumn salmon whose flavor is greatly enhanced by the sauce. Delicious dishes that utilize autumn ingredients follow, such as Silk Sweet, which is baked like a roasted Yaki-imo and then pasted to bring out its sweetness, and Beignet, which has the salty taste of bacon as a nice accent. A dish of fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth conger eel, matsutake mushroom and consommé soup stock, and the scent of yuzu. A beignet made with crispy fried sweet sea bream, mushroom and burdock paste, and micro coriander. The Kyoto mochi pork shoulder loin is made with a sauce that combines the flavors of grain mustard and pork, with the addition of spicy black shichimi, and before being fried in beignet batter, it is simmered in vegetable bouillon to make it tender. The texture and flavor are outstanding. Charcoal-grilled duck and small onions bring out the unique taste of duck meat with accents of fig sauce and black pepper. Surprisingly not too greasy, the domestic beef sirloin is juicy and has a combination of red wine, Madeira wine, and truffle sauce, and the garnish is made with layers of potatoes and white sauce, as well as the wonderful main dish. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the food! A Western-style Ochazuke(boiled rice with tea)closing dish that combines rice cooked with kombucha, chicken stock, grilled cheese, and goshiki radish, giving you a risotto-like taste with the flavors of chicken and cheese. Grape compote, soy milk and yogurt Ice cream that feels like autumn is coming again.
