京都・寺町丸太町のデザインホテル、ザ・スクリーン。わずか13部屋のプチホテルにもかかわらず、テーブル40席の立派なダイニングがあります。
和の趣を感じるおしゃれでモダンなフレンチレストランなのです。ザ・スクリーンに宿泊した翌朝の朝食はこのレストランで取りました。
朝食はセットメニュー。和朝食か洋朝食かを選択できます。
私は洋朝食をチョイス。バターナッツのポタージュ、オムレツ(ベーコン、ソーセージ入り)、サラダ、ヨーグルト、フルーツサラダ。
中にジャムの入った熱々の大きなクロワッサン型のパンとブラウントースト。けっこう充実した内容です。
家族は和定食を選びました。京都風のおかずがいっぱいです。味見させてもらった白味噌仕立てのお味噌汁は美味しくて、湯葉も入っている湯豆腐も見るからに美味しそう。
白味噌仕立てのお味噌汁と湯豆腐、この2つがあると、京都らしさが引き立ちます。
通常、ホテルの宿泊者数よりも、朝食レストランの席数の方が少ないので、朝食タイムは混雑したり待たされたりするものですが、ここではそんな心配は要りません。優雅なホテルの朝食を体験できるのです。
そんなところが気に入りました。
