Enjoy "Meidai Uoke," glossy Edo-style grilled eels lined up in cedar barrels, in a Kyoto townhouse reminiscent of Gion.

祇園花見小路通り、裏路地一角の情緒ある佇まい。
此方は重ではなく桶で提供される独特なスタイル。
調理法は背開き蒸し焼き、どうやら京都は関東風で調理する店が多い様子。
味は京都らしい薄味で、卓上のタレで調整が可。
鰻の臭みは殆ど無く、脂も非常に口当たりが良い。
連れ合いも後程、こんなに胃にもたれない鰻は初めて食べたと絶賛していた。
尚、この日のものは宮崎産とのこと。
三人前を注文したが、二人で食べ切れず残りはおみやにしていただいた。
仮にうまき、うざくを頼んでいなければ完食出来たかもしれない。
予約を取り付けるのに苦労したが、確かにその筈電話がひっきりなしに鳴り続けている。
観光で訪れる際は、余裕を持った準備をおすすめする。
