A famous soba restaurant located in Oiwake along National Route 18 in Karuizawa. Open in the evenings from August to the end of October!
The water is carefully selected, and the local flour from the cool highlands is kneaded, pressed, and cut to create a unique taste. You can enjoy authentic, stone-ground, hand-made soba noodles, made |
It's delicious any time of the day, but it's a food that makes you want to eat it even more in the summer. Soba noodles. I stopped by here on my trip. When I arrived, there were a few people waiting, even though it was a weekday outside of lunchtime. I wrote my name down and waited about 15-20 minutes before entering the restaurant. There were so many options on the menu that it was hard to choose. I shared the grated wild vegetable soba and Tempura platter with everyone. The biggest impression was how the soba noodles were surprisingly generously portioned. They tasted great and were delicious. But. More than that, the portions were so large that it was a bit of a concern... When I asked, I found out that the owner was particular about the noodles. It's amazing how much attention to detail he has in these times. By the way, the soba noodles were a lot, but they were delicious and I managed to finish them all. They were chewy but thin, and went down smoothly, so it was strange that I could eat all the delicious soba noodles. The grated daikon radish and wild vegetables were refreshing and perfect for summer. The walnut sauce for the soba noodles was also very delicious and I liked it. The interior of the store has an old-fashioned feel, and the windows through which morning glories can be seen give it a summery feel.
