This is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) located on the side of Ina's main street. Ina is about 150 km from Takasaki. It takes about 4 hours. Therefore, if I eat at a restaurant that is open at night, I will arrive home after 10 o'clock, but this restaurant opens at 4:30 p.m., which is a slightly tempting opening time, so I decided to go there. I parked my car in a municipal parking lot a little further away, which is free for one hour, and walked. Ina city at dusk in autumn somehow feels nice. When I arrived at the restaurant, I wondered if my noren was feeling unwell? The owner was checking it out. I asked, "Do they have lo-men here?" and he confirmed, "Yes, they do." I entered the restaurant. This is a restaurant where you can enjoy a leisurely meal with drinks at the counter and on the raised platform. When I sat at the counter, he pointed to the menu and asked, "Would you like something to drink?" but I declined, saying, "Because I'm driving." I asked for the "char lo-men" on the menu. It was 680 yen (excluding tax). The owner seemed gentle, but he seemed to be a craftsman with a particular attitude. I was expecting what would come out would be amazing. Sure enough, the goods arrived with the words "It's already flavored." The style was a Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) style without soup. There are two types of lo-men: the soup type started by "Banri" and Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) type started by "Ushio." Both have their own characteristics and are enjoyable. I put my chopsticks in and ate it right away. The sauce flavor is not too strong. The seasoning is exquisite, allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the ingredients. The noodles are yellowish and gritty, which is unique to "this is lo-men!". Since it is a Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) type, it is moderately oily. The toppings are simple, the standard cabbage and...mutton. When I exhaled through my nose, I could smell a slight milky mutton flavor... As the owner said, there was no need for any special seasoning, and they just poured on some vinegar to give it a sharper flavor. The only thing I regret is that I wanted some garlic, as I love Jiro and Iekei ramen. To be honest, this was a restaurant I would have liked to visit and enjoy to the fullest, without having to worry about driving.
