Kamechiku is a directly managed store of a ranch that raises Omi beef. Our ranch is particular about female heifers, which have been said to be delicious since ancient times. Female cows are difficult
... and risky to raise, as they are prone to gain subcutaneous fat, become more carnivorous, and are slow to grow. However, at our ranch, we feed them plenty of straw from local Omi rice, which contains a lot of good bacteria such as natto bacteria, and we also purchase beer pomace, which is rich in yeast and wheat fiber, from the Kirin Brewery factory and feed them in a unique mixture, so that we can raise the cows healthy from the inside out without forcing them. Cows are very timid animals. The most important thing is that people are kind to them and treat them like their own children, so that the cows will choose us and grow up well. When it is time to ship, all the staff load the cows onto the truck, and sometimes stroke their cheeks to send them off gently. We are grateful for the life we have been given, and we work hard every day with the idea that the ranch is a place where the cows can live happily until then.
