Chain izakayas may be a little cheaper, but they only use frozen and ready-made ingredients, right? We will overturn that common sense!! Food safety and local production for local consumption are our duty as people involved in the food industry! We will create a restaurant where you can enjoy our serious commitment with this idea☆ Fresh fish delivered directly from Numazu fishing port! Raw whitebait and sakura shrimp from Suruga Bay! Delicious local sake from Shizuoka, Shizuoka's soul drink Shizuokawari and Shizuoka's representative craft beer Gotemba Kogen Beer! We contract with farms all over Shizuoka to use local vegetables, the much talked about Hakone Seiroku Mishima vegetables, and meat from Yonekyu, a meat manufacturer that Shizuoka is proud of. We will work with a serious commitment to ingredients and quality so that you can enjoy the real Shizuoka food! We will be a restaurant that is loved by local customers and where you can make new discoveries! |

I went to Shizuoka and wanted to eat some fresh local fish. It's a Chimney chain restaurant, but I was a little excited because they serve fish from Suruga Bay. I ordered the restaurant's recommended "Raw Tuna Large Catch Assortment" (tax included) for 819 yen. I was about halfway through my second glass of draft beer when my order finally came. The menu photo showed moist red meat, but the product that arrived was pink and sinewy. When I ate it, it only tasted watery. I couldn't taste the flavor of the red meat at all. Rather than raw tuna, it only felt elastic, like frozen tuna that had not been thawed properly. I'm used to Edomae red tuna, so maybe I don't know the flavor of Shizuoka red tuna... If so, I feel sorry for the people of Shizuoka... I didn't feel like ordering other food, so I left half of my sashimi and left the restaurant. It's a disappointment for an Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) chain that is known for its reasonable prices.
