NYに本店のあるステーキレストランです。
土曜日の11時半に予約して伺いました。
お肉も食べたかったのですが、名物のポップオーバーがどんなものか食べてみたくて。
エレベーターで8階まであがると、そこはもうお店の中という構造です。
重厚感、高級感あることが一目でわかる店内です。
12月に入ったところなので、天井まで届きそうなクリスマスツリーが飾られていましたが、クラシックな店内にとても似合っていました。
窓際の広々したテーブル席に案内してもらえます。荷物にはちゃんとカバーをかけてくれるところもホテル級のサービス。
あらかじめサーロインステーキのコースを頼んでいましたが、お店ではさらに前菜4つの中から一つと、ステーキの焼き加減、ステーキのソースを4種類の中から選ぶようになっています。
迷いましたが、お店の名物でもあるというマグロのタルタルを前菜に、ステーキの焼き加減はミディアム、ソースはチミチュリという香草とビネガーなどのソースが珍しいと思って選びました。
まずシャンパンで気持ちが盛り上がります。
一つ一つサーブする時に、一度サイドにテーブルをセットしておいてからサーブするのが、なんだか特別感。
食べ方も丁寧に説明してくれてにこやかです。
マグロのタルタルはアボカドや下に敷かれているソースと混ぜ合わせながら、添えられているチップスに乗せて食べます。
そしてポップオーバー。大きく膨らんで見た目から楽しませてくれます。
粒荒めのソルトをかけて、バターをつけて食べます。
美味しいというより楽しいという感じかな？
この日のスープはビーツとカシスのスープ。ビーツのスープにカシスのソースがかかっていて、まろやかでとてもおいしかったです。
ステーキはＳＴＡＵＢのお皿に乗せられて登場します。ぽってりとした分厚さがいかにもおいしそうなビジュアル。これをお皿にとって、ソースをつけたりそのままで食べるのです。わざわざお皿に取って食べるのが、大切に味わいながら食べられてよい感じ。
チミチュリは香草とビネガーでさっぱりしておいしかったです。
デザートは薄く重ねた生地の中にリンゴが入っていてい真ん中の方にはベリー？がはいったものと、リンゴのコンポート、ブルーチーズのアイスにはちみつがかかったものでした。このブルーチーズのアイスがなかなかおいしかったです。
珈琲もおいしく、添えられていたお砂糖は使いませんでしたが、クリスマスシーズンらしい可愛いお砂糖でうれしくなりました。
とても良い時間を過ごせました。
