Anagoya Ginza Hirai《Mesokko Hako Meshi Ikada》 I visited this place that I had been checking out for a while after finishing my lunch on Thursday morning. A restaurant specializing in conger eel dishes that opened in 2013. Located in the back alley of Ginza Mihara-dori near Mitsukoshi, this restaurant is famous for having been featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand for three years in a row, where you can enjoy exquisite conger eel cuisine in a retro Showa era atmosphere. The owner, Mr. Hirai, has been a member of the conger eel restaurant Tamai in Nihonbashi since its opening, and after serving as the store manager for a long time, he went independent and opened his own conger eel restaurant Ginza Hirai. Normal business hours are from 11:30 to 14:30 in the afternoon and from 17:30 to 21:00 in the evening, except when closed on Mondays. The store opens at 11:30 a.m. today, March 14th (Thursday), a normal weekday, but the 18 seats are fully booked and there are many people waiting outside. ``Mesokko'' is a general term for small, thin conger eel (less than 35 cm).In the Edo period, this ``Mesokko'' was said to be the best, and Hirai uses natural ``Mesokko''. ``Ikada'' is a ``box meal'' (conger eel) made with two plump boiled conger eel and one fragrant roasted conger eel. Comes with pickled vegetables and miso soup. First, just take a bite or two. Next, take a sip or two with the scent of yuzu. And it's fun to try a variety of different flavors with one or two bites of wasabi, green onion, and ground sesame. The stewed conger eel has a soft, melt-in-your-mouth sweet aroma and melt-in-your-mouth flavor, while the kabayaki has the flavor of being grilled twice in a special sauce. The grilled conger eel has an outstanding texture, and it's insanely delicious!❣️ The contrast between boiled and grilled is also great, and I see that it's one of Ginza's specialties⭐︎ The egg with the Hirai stamp surrounded by conger eel is also delicious! ︎ I thought that the first bowl that was served to me was liver soup by mistake, so I was given a free service, and I was grateful that they also offered me regular miso soup. Liver sucking is delicious with a light and flavorful soup stock! ︎ The miso soup was a good miso soup with seaweed, it was a great value lol It was really delicious ✨ Thank you for the meal ♪
