The meeting was running long, so I decided to have a quick drink and head home. Zaraku Jimbocho branch is located along Hakusan Dori, about 4 minutes from Jimbocho Station A3 exit, and Ganbare is also within walking distance from Suidobashi. As far as I can see, this Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) is crowded with almost 100% male office workers. Creative Cuisine using Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot) and local chicken seem to be popular, but I was moved by the selection of local sake from all over the country! Trying not to get discouraged, let's toast with The Premium Malt's (550 yen). The standouts were the lotus root and hijiki stew. The crunchy texture of the lotus root is refreshing. The avocado sashimi (590 yen) is made with Japanese-style dressing instead of wasabi soy sauce. It is a snack that can be enjoyed as a salad. I took the opportunity to order the aged Satsuma chicken (690 yen). The large fried chicken is juicy! I had the refreshing Kachi Kachi Lemon Sour (550 yen). As for the sake, I had Juyondai (1 go/1,800 yen), so I ended up going with the usual flow of Sake Kuheiji (1 go/1,800 yen), Ichinokura (1 go/I forgot the price) (lol), and Ume Suisho (590 yen). I enjoyed it while nibbling on the pumped tofu (490 yen). Next time I come, I'll probably Motsu-nabe (Offal hotpot) and hot sake.
