平日休みに上京した母を伴いサシランチ。亀戸駅北口から徒歩5〜6分、商店街のアーケードを抜けたところにある和食処。明治38年の創業以来亀戸の街の発展を見つめてきた老舗割烹で、店先に生けてある地元名産「亀戸大根」が目印。
予約の上、正午過ぎにお邪魔。個室もあるので店内のキャパは伺い知ることはできないが、平場の席にはご年配の方々を中心に7〜8割の入り。予約必要なかったかな？
お目当ての亀戸大根を使用した看板メニュー「亀戸大根あさり鍋」に大根菜と生姜の入った麦飯、小鉢盛り、デザートがセットになったランチ膳を発注。
こういうお店だし、オペレーションはゆっくりめ。15分後、着丼。
まずは小鉢は大根の天ぷら、玉子豆腐、ふろふき大根をいただいてからメインの鍋へ。
鍋は煮立った状態で供される。味噌仕立てで、具材はたっぷりのあさりと亀戸大根、大ぶりの油揚、水菜など。あさりの力強い出汁に大根の甘みがふんわりと溶け出したスープは、他でなかなか味わうことのできないお味。
まずは普通に味わった後、お店の流儀に従って鍋を茶碗によそった菜飯にぶっかけていただく。馬鹿舌のため、別々に食うのと何が違うのか感じ取ることは出来なかったが、風情のあるアトラクションとしてアリ。
食材はヘルシーなものばかりだが量がたっぷりなので相応にボリューミー。母子とも途中から無口になり食べることに集中し、腹ぱつんぱつんになりながらなんとか完食。味云々というより下町で珍しいものをいただいていい思い出ができたという感想。
